Arima,

It looks like this was from Steam, is that a correct assumption? Can you give more information about this crash? When you say
The Game suddenly CRASHED my computer and now it won't work anymore.
you are also referring to the game and not your computer correct?

If you could get some more information about the machine and circumstances around the crash it will help to start narrowing down a solution. In windows you can do the following:

Start->Enter "mmc" in the search box or in Win 8+ I believe you can just type mmc in the Metro view. -> File -> Add/Remove Snap-in...->Event -Viewer->Add->Local computer->Then select OK. You can then open Windows Logs->Application

If you try to run the game again and it crashes it should produce an entry here. If I could see that please.

Have you tried to uninstall and then reinstall the game? I know that might not be the most ideal solution but might be a quick fix.

If you have questions please ask I will try to help quickly,

Well, the game is working normally again after I shut down and started it up the next day.

I honestly don't know how it happened.
But I if I had to make a guess, it must've been a temporary stability problem.

I was running the game in a window and using Notepad to write down important information at the same time.
When I switched to notepad, the music would stop but the sound effects would continue to run normally.
I think that switching in and out of the game must've been so disruptive, it caused my computer to crash.

The game Crashed again, unfortunately. But this time, I wasn't using Notepad. Also, the game is still able to run normally after the crash.

There are two possible explanations as to what caused the crash.

1. I was running the game for too long. Indicating an apparent stability issue that occurs when you play for several minutes.

2. The crash was caused by a Steam program request for an automatic update.

Everyone,

If you are having issues with the game not working please make sure to include the counsle output so that I can get detailed information on the problem. Follow the steps below and attach a file with the output with a description of the problem you are having, this will allow for faster responses and bug fixes to be addressed. Please also make a note how the game was purchased and installed, i.e.: Apple App Store/Steam.

Can you do the following and give me the output of the console please;

OS X

1. Go into Finder -> Applications
2. Right-click on TWoM Application -> select "Show package contents"
3. Go to folder Contents -> MacOS
4. Then you should see "This War of Mine"
5. Double Click the file and it will open a console and start the game.
6. Collect the output after you close the game out.

Windows

1. Navigate to your Library
2. Right-click "This War of Mine" on the list
3. Select "Properties"
4. In the "General" tab click the "Set launch options" button
5. Enter the following exact value (with the minus character!):
-console
6. Start TWoM and get as far as you can with the game and then close or quit if able.
7. Navigate to your Library
8. Right-click "This War of Mine" on the list
9. Select "Properties"
10. In the "Local files" tab click the "Browse local files" button
11. Locate the file "ConsoleOutput.htm" and post or PM the file or contents.

Please attach, PM or post the output.

Thank you,

There's something wrong with the Steam Client or my computer.
I was running another game for less than 5 minutes and it just suddenly crashed.
The cause was apparently connected to the 3D graphics.

Arima,

Are you able to get the console output so that we can get a better understanding of the problem? If the directions above don't work please let me know and I will work to get you a method to collect this information. Also if the above directions don't work please give me some system and OS details to best suit your system.

Thank you,
