Is there a demo version of this game for Mac? I would very much like to try it to make sure it will work on my computer before I buy it.

Also, are there any other devices going to get a port of this game?

Never say never however for now there are no plans for making demo version. But you know... 96% of Steam players think TWoM is worth playing.
