I bought the game with the humble bundle and have the problem that it shuts down my computer while playing the intro movie.
I can see the two people go to the red light and then the appearing cracks in the street - and then the computer simply powers off. No shutdown message or anything like that - it simply is off.
I run a 64bit archlinux on my AMD FX 8350, 16GB RAM with an ASUS Radeon HD 7870 and the proprietary catalyst driver.
- Code: Select all
$ uname -srvmo
Linux 3.12.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 20 19:39:00 CET 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I use xinit to start the X server with an openbox-session as a simple window manager.
Package versions:
catalyst-hook 13.12-1
openbox 3.5.2-6
xorg-server 1.14.5-1
xorg-xinit 1.3.3-3
Any suggestions what I can try?
And no, no error messages - it goes off and does not even reboot. No chance for seeing/reading an error message. I have to manually start the computer again and then it complains about the dirty shutdown.
In my home directory is now a ".Anomaly 2/DefaultUser" directory structure with the files progress, results and stats.
They seem to be nearly empty (some header/ending bytes) but I could post them if that would help.
Other games like e.g. X3 or Dota2 are running without problems.
If you tell me how I can deliver more information to you, I will do it.

I tried again with output to a file.
- Code: Select all
./Anomaly2 >anoOut.txt 2>anoErr.txt
I recognized that this time the cracks in the street did not even appear - so the computer shut down some seconds earlier.

Yes, it stops with the characters "Reso".
### Edit2 02.01.2013 17:32 ###
I tried again - this time skipping the intro with ESC. In the menu the computer did not shut down.
I changed the language in the options to german and opened the "Wie man spielt" (how to play?) section.
There the intro video is shown in a small window... and the computer shut down again as the two guys leaved the truck... -.- So it crashes even with the small video.
Again file contents (this time splitted in two parts - content was too large): http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=xuJ1E6qV and http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=i630Tv8K
