I can confirm Anomaly 2 not working (Steam on linux). Problem is as described, games loads and plays intro vid, after that icon on the lower left makes about half a rotation and then stops. Process continues with 100% cpu-load.

I'm running gentoo x86 (up to date so far) with an nvidia GPU. If support needs to know versions of specific programs or any other info, plz ask.

Same problem here (stuck at loading ring..).

I posted in the Steam thread. Have since upgraded nvidia drivers from 319.17 -> 319.23, but it made no difference.

Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit
Athlon 64 X2 4200+
Geforce 8800GTS 640MB (nvidia driver 319.23)
Linux 3.2.0-44-generic x86_64

I'd really like to play this game as it looks awesome.

Edit: Just made it to the menu for the first time ever, but it still crashed when I attempted to start a game.

Freezes here as well. Debian Wheezy AMD64 (all other 3D, including 32-Bit is working).

OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 9500 GT/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 304.88

Hey guys, we're working on it. As for now all I can say is that You should try to update your graphic card's drivers to the latest NVIDIA version. Most of the problems we've encountered on linux versions were caused by the drivers.
(Which You can get from the official NVIDIA's site: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us )
Also, we would like to remind all of You that we officially do not support linux distributions other than Ubuntu.
Sorry if that's not enough but we're still working on it, yet we all have our limits and our resources are not infinite unfortunately. If update won't fix any of your problems, keep in mind You can always contact Steam directly to get a refund.

I think you mostly encounter incompatible library versions on Linux? Because distro A has version 1.1 of libfoo, but distro B has version 1.2 of libfoo which is an incompatible upgrade due to internal changes. E.g. Mono has dropped, as it seems, gluezilla support due to security concerns. But the game "SimCity Societies" requires gluezilla. Bad for Mono (and Linux at the end) as the original Windows still provides a working gluezilla (as far as I know).

The latest version from nvidia.com is: 319.32. I give it a try now.
