I really enjoy Anomaly's frequent checkpoints in the first four missions; they allow for a lot of experimentation. Basically I just try an approach that seems reasonable and if I mess up and one of my vehicles gets destroyed, I push the "restart checkpoint" button and find something better.
However, I'm now on mission 5 and it seems that checkpoints are really lacking. I mean, I have to navigate through dozens of enemy towers while trying to destroy the two main objectives in this map, and when I make a mistake I'm being put back almost to the beginning of the mission. Is that on purpose? It seems like a huge "difficulty" leap. I'm a bit disappointed because I liked the trial-and-error approach so much in the early missions
