Actually lives up to the hype

I'm the kind of guy that waits for appshopper.com to notify me about $0.99 sales, and I pretty much ignore anything on Steam that isn't on sale for at least 50%. For the most part it isn't really about money, it's more about time -> I've got so much crap to do in real life, and so many games I have that I haven't finished yet, waiting for a ridonkulous sale just makes sense.
So, the $1 buck off price on Steam got my attention, but didn't put me into "instabuy" category. I trolled around looking for some feedback on various forums and review sites, and I don't know why, but I sat in the skeptical category for quite a while...they hype looked like it was possibly artificial, generated by a carefully planned marketing engine. Pretty artwork does not always make for a ground breaking game, and there's no doubt that a carefully crafted marketing push can overhype mediocre games.
Well, I finally succumbed and plunked down my $8 and change on Steam, and I stand here very impressed. All the hype is well deserved. Gameplay is clean, challenging, innovative, and the presentation is gorgeous. The "reverse tower defense" concept is interesting, but it could've been a disaster. The execution here is just about as flawless as one could ask for.
Just finished the first section at Baghdad, and pretty much can't put the game down. As soon as this comes out for iOS, it's definitely "instabuy" for me. Excellent work guys!
