Flickering issue & backlight on BB10 (Z10 device)

Postby Feyd » Mon Apr 08, 2013 9:59 am

No BlackBerry dedicated forum, so I post it here. Please fill free to move it somewhere else.

I got two annoying issues when playing on my Z10 device.

1) There are some parts of the environment (in random places, mostly 1-2 items on each map), which flickers a lot. See this video of "mission 4", when some signs on the road just do that. I will delete this video after few days...

2) You seem not to disable the 'standby mode'. And the screen just turns of after some time, when not touched. Please check the window's SCREEN_IDLE_MODE_KEEP_AWAKE property. Full sample here.

Cheers,
Paweł

Yep. We are aware of issues. The problem is that we have only a testkit where everything works fine. We need actual device and once having it - we'll be able to track all those bugs.

OK. I understand, that you talked only about issue (1). With this one I can wait till you buy own device.

However, the stand-by mode (issue 2) you can introduce without any device. It's just a matter of making another call, when you initialize the game, that's all. I already pointed the BB10 documentation for you. This bug is very annoying, as every time there are a cut-scenes or when the squad is moving, I must tap the screen somewhere to prevent it getting dimmed and turned off.

Cheers,
Pawel

yes, exactly. We found this issue and hope to fix it in future updates.
So anyway, not skipping the intro allowes to load the rest of the game fine.
